Acoustic guitar solo project that features Luca Tihai’s personal reinterpretation of some of the most technical and famous themes that marked the history of the acoustic guitar, touching different musical genres and leaving room for some personal improvisations.
“Since before I took my first steps, in my house’s living room there was a turntable playing nonstop the notes of Friday Night In San Francisco as well as those of other famous Lps by John McLaughlin, Al Di Meola, Chick Corea, Ravi Shankar, Astor Piazzolla, Egberto Gismonti, Paco De Lucia, Stephan Micus, Stefan Grossman, John Renbourn, Davey Graham and many others ...
That way of playing the guitar and improvising and that style so "guitaristic" and totally open to the all world of music, at the same time extremely technical and extremely simple and humble, it has been to me not only a reference point and a goal but a true identity, deeply internalized. After many years of studies, records and researches on music systems and instruments belonging to different cultures, I want to dedicate this phase of my career to revisit some of those themes that marked my life as a musician and that will never cease to teach, inspire and marvel me. Thus the name of this project "Tribute To the Maestros", a real homecoming and a new start. Aim of this work is of course not originality in itself but rather to emphasize those sincere and everlasting emotional elements that characterize the greatest musical compositions.”
